Schist Happens! (Sturgess)

This home is a fusion of rustic and country with schist columns on expansive decks.

Walls were removed to create a larger bathroom. The external wall has become part of the shower, which gives the appearance of more space and optimizes the use of natural light. The louvre window gives good ventilation and highlights the stunning view of the city.

The use of natural material adds warmth and contrast, which was another way to connect the room with the other elements of the home.

The L.E.D. lights under the lip of the bath create a feature of the schist which is emphasized at night, these are operated from separate switches so different task or mood lighting options can be used.

Ample storage has been included in the vanity and recessed cabinet behind the mirror.

A rain head shower suspended from the ceiling allows the client to relax and have some pamper time with independent lights which are powered by the water flow. By including the slide shower the client has the option for a quick shower and easy cleaning of he wall and glass. The slim line channel waste installed along the back wall of the walk in shower continues the minimalist lines.
